Just put a lid on September, and it was another decent month. Played 546 games, mostly on Cake, but did maybe 1/3 of them on Stars. Ran awful in the $33s on both sites. Did well at every other level I played. On the first day of September I played a $110 and a $220 (my first $220 ever), and lost both. Ended the day down close to a grand, but from that day forward climbed steadily. Played a few 4 mans and we had good results, but I lost almost every FT flip so that distorted my stats quite a bit. Don't care too much about that though :-)

One thing that I noticed that I'm making progress on is maintaining my composure most of the time. I feel that inexperienced players, or plain old bad players tend to freak out fairly easily and push the panic button. While this may work some of the time, more often than not, it results in poor play and losses. I rarely do this
anymore. What really helps me in this area is knowing, not thinking, but knowing that I have beaten the level that I'm playing, and if I keep my cool and keep grinding, things will work themselves out in the end. Thats why, for HUSNG at least, I think its very important to take your time on moving up. Get to the point where you own the level, and its indisputable. Make some money...then when your ready
you can take a shot at the next level. Set a buyin limit for your trial and go from there. Playing above your skill level is gambling. The odds arent going to be favorable either....if you wanna gamble, thats cool..but I'd recommend, Blackjack, Craps, or Roulette where you have about a 48% chance....much better (several ROI points anyway) than if you play some shark in a $110 when ur skills are at $11.

Another solid month. The last week of the month, I had the best streak of run-good that I've had in about 3 months. In addition, I really feel like I'm playing the best poker of my life right now. Combine good play with some love from the poker gods and you get some good results.

Been playing more games in August than I did last month. Theres only so much sun you can get I suppose :-)

Not having a great month, but not awful either. Been spending most of my time
sitting the 25/33 on Cake. Theres a couple of higher stakes guys that love to sit me when they see me, so I've been hesitant to sit the $55 too much. Just been content to play my $30 avg stake and grind out my daily bread. Hopefully will
get up into the $1200 profit range by months end.

Lazy summer daze...

In July, I went to the beach alot, partied alot, worked out alot, hung out alot, but didn't play poker alot. Summer time is too much fun to be cooped up indoors sitting on the computer imo. Thats one of the things I love about NOT being a professional poker player. I have money coming in from about 6 different places, so I can play
poker if I want to, or I can go out on my boat if I want to.

So...I did play some poker nonetheless, and I did OK. Average buyin was in the mid $20s and I made a grand total of $712.59. Def didnt grind very hard for that, so I'll take it.

Been putting in some real solid volume this first week of August so far, so we'll see if that trend continues.

Worst month in a lonnnnng time. Variance bit me like I cannot remember ever before. So bad that all my profit was from RB/bonus/promos. $0 from actual poker. :-(

May was a big month for me as I began playing quite a few $55s on the regular for the first time ever. I still mixed in some $33s on Stars and some $25s on Cake, and late in the month, Cake added a $33 hu also. As it turned out, I really played more $33s than anything, but I did play more $55s than ever before, so that's progress.

Heres how things shaped up:

Out of 438 games played, I played a grand total of 70 at $50+ including 4 games at $100+. Of the remaining 368 games, 349 were at $20+. I'm very happy with the fact
that my average buyin for the entire month was $32. This means that most of my games are $33+ which is exactly what I want. I love the fact that Cake finally added
a $33 husng, and you will definitely be seeing me in that alot.

I made a ton of money in bonuses this month. Cleaned up like never before with over $300 on Stars, and even more on Cake, plus Rakeback. Its amazing how much money
you start making from these areas as you climb up the poker ladder. This month, I made a total of $1590.50, and about 1/2 of that was from bonuses and RB!

I just finished a long grind session, and for the first time in like a week, I didn't breakeven...feels good to make a little cash after several sideways days.

Very sleepy atm, so I'm gonna crash and get ready for another big day tomorrow.

$55s...pretty big step for me

For the last few days I've been playing mostly $55s with a few $33s when I'm on Stars and a few $25s when I'm on Cake. Although, I'm getting a ridic good RB + Bonus deal with Cake, I usually play late at night, and the traffic on Cake is dismal at that time.....so I've been putting in quite a few games on Stars. The only good thing about that is, the games fill really quick.

I'm about breakeven with the $55s in a small sample. So far, my observations are as follows:

-Again...My sample size is still small, but most of the players arent that good

-The $$$ amount doesnt affect my willingness to shove, bluff, etc at all...In fact, I usually forget what amount I'm playing for in the heat of the battle.

-It's really hard to tilt me...really hard.

-The avg player on stars $55s is better than the average player in Cake $55s.

So..bottom line, I'm pretty confident I have an edge here in this level, but time will tell for sure. I'm pretty excited about the new challenge!

Didnt beat myself up with tons of games and so little stress its
a joke, and I made $1,407. Very pleased with it, but really need to
start playing higher I guess....its funny cause I always say this,
but now I think I really, really, really, mean it. Hahaha

So...April has been going very well thus far. I have mostly stuck to my plan
of playing 90%+ of my games at $25+ on Cake and $33+ on Stars. So far in April
I've played 293 games. Heres the Global Alias from Scope:

I've played a total of 50 gms below my "minimums". So, 243 at the level I wanna be at or above, or 83%. Almost all of the lower stakes games Ive played have been
right before I go to bed....I like to fire up 2 or 3 super turbos at really low stakes and if I lose em, I dont care....but usually I end up winning in them too.

So...gonna keep playing the $25s on Cake for now. I'm gonna keep mixing in a
few $33s on Stars latenight when Cake is dead and even game select some $55s. Dont think I will be able to play above $25s on Cake because the traffic is just too low, and there are a few good regs that will sit you in the $55s on Cake.

Roll is at $9,287.59, so $55s are no problem. Time to grind!!!

Finished out March like a lamb after a hot start. Ended up making $1,270 mostly in the $22 HU turbo. Basically felt like I owned the $22 level, so I officially moved up to $33s on Stars, hopefully for good. It's cool to move up a level...it really feels like progress is being made. Made Gold Star on stars too, which is kinda cool, but for the time being I'm gonna play alot on Cake because I have $380 in bonus pending on there. Also...they are offering another $300 reload, so I'll probably go ahead and deposit and get that too. So...I guess it will be almost entirely $25s on Cake, and $33's when I play on Stars. So...I spoke about the bonus I was trying to get in the last post. Well.....I cleared it on the last day!! So, a free $100 is always nice. :-)

More importantly though, the amount of volume that I had to put in to get the necessary VPP's resulted in some really nice results. I ended up playing just
over 500 games in the first 17 days of March, and as of this moment I'm sitting
at +$1,079 for the month to date. I played mostly $22 Hu with some $33 and $11 mixed in. These last 18 days really reinforced something I already knew, but it really hammered home the point. The key to making money in husng's is volume. I dont care how good you are, if your not putting in the volume, your just not going to make much money from this. If you're beating the $55 at an 8% clip, that means you are averaging $4.20/game which is excellent, but if you only play 200 games in a month, you wont even make $1000.

So....my plan is to try to start playing $33s soon, and maintain at least a 600 gm per month pace. At 5% roi, I would make $1000 of clean scope profit then with bonuses and RB, I should be dancing in the $1200-$1500 range. For now, I'm happy with that.

Treading Water on Stars

Decided on March 1st that I wanted to make a run at a $100 bonus that I have had
pending since September. As of that day I still needed a few points on a previous $100 bonus, so I finished that up and started crunching a few numbers. I would need 2500 FPPs by March 18th at 6AM to get the $100. I figured it would be a good carrot to get me to actually play some hardcore volume this month. After doing the math, I decided that if I play approx 30 $22's or 20 $33's a day for 16 days, I can get there. So, I decided to give it a shot. If I can play approx 500 $22's during that timeframe, (or the equivalent of 500 $22's with other stakes), and I run at 5% ROI, I will make about $500 in sng profit, and maybe $150 or so in bonus (includes the $100 plus the stellar rewards), and accumulate a bunch of FPP's. So, I can make like $650 in 2 weeks and obv if I run better, I can make more.

So...thats what I've been up to for the past week or so. So far, so good. I'm about halfway there, and at the moment, I'm up $223. It's more games than I'm accustomed to playing, but since volume is one of my leaks, I think its an excellent exercise.

Closed out February on a good note. Played a total of 581 games, 413 HU and 168 DONs. HU average buyin was exactly $20 and 70%+ of the HU games I played were at $20 or greater. Didnt quite meet my goal of 90% but def improved. Speaking of my goals, lets run down the 4 I laid out at the beginning of the month.

90% of games at $20+...not quite, but 70% is better.

$1500 total profit. Made $1321, so again, not quite, but close.

Clear all the remaining bonus money on Cake. Retired $50 of it from Cake and $100 from Stars and received another $300 from Cake!

Full time $33's on stars. Not yet, but soon.

So...thats the skinny. Excited for a big March!!

I created a "Global Alias" profile on sharkscope to track my 3 accounts in one
search which enables me to look at my SNG results for all 3 sites
I play on in on snapshot. Here are my results for Feb MTD for Global

I'm actually up $357 in total due to bonuses, rakeback credits, ring, 4 mans, etc.

I've been steady grinding the $22's on Stars and the $25's on Cake, 2 tabling most
of the time which is something I'm just now getting totally comfortable with. I'd say that as of today, I have zero hesitance at 2 tabling at the $22/$25 level. This
is the first time I've been able to say that, so that is pretty exciting. I feel there is a slight sacrifice in my play level 2 tabling...ie, I make an occasional
mistake that I wouldn't have made 1 tabling, but its a manageable amount and
definitely outweighed by the bennies of double the volume.

I've also made good progress on my stakes leak. So far, of the 137
games I've played, 108 or 79% have been at $20+. Not quite where I
want to be, but moving in that direction, and a vast improvement over
last month. I'm very confident that this problem will be 100% solved
this month...I dont even see why I was clinging to the $10's and $11's
now, since I'm steady owning the $20's and above. Problem Solved IMO!!

Wanted to post a follow up to the brief message I made earlier
and elaborate a little bit more on my month. I always like to
put a bit of time into reflection at the end of months and
see if there are ways I can tweek my approach to yield more
profit in terms of percentage (ROI) or more money per
unit of time invested.

In looking at my scope stats for SNG's one thing really jumped
out at me. I played a total of 626 games which is a good number,
but the breakdown is really surprising.

By buyin

$5 64 games
$10-$12 374 games
$20-$25 180 games
$30 and up 8 games

This is actually shocking to me. I was under the impression
that I was mostly playing $20-$25 games, but I have obviously
been deluding myself. 70% of the games I played were $12 and
under!!! WTF...I have a few semi-justifiable reasons for this
like: friends that wanna 4 man lower stakes, late nite hours
on Cake where the traffic is low, practicing multi-tabling,
desire to minimize stress and occasionally wanting to fire up
2 or 3 low stakes super turbos for the hell of it. But....bottom
line, I must keep the games below $20 to a minimum.

So...that's the takeaway from this exercise. No more
low stakes games!!! My ROI in $20-$30 has been in the
6%-12% range consistently for awhile now, so there is
no reason for me to be playing anything below this level.

So...here are my goals for February.

-90% of games at $20+

-$1500 total profit (including RB, bonus, ring, etc)

-Fully retire all remaining bonus money on Cake (now $160...they
gave me another $100...not sure if I should be happy or not)

-Go full time on Stars $33's by months end

I've gotta cure myself of this stakes leak if I wanna start
making the kind of money that I believe I'm capable of!

Churning out the steady profits I need once again this month.
My "WingmanMtP" username on Cake is starting to put together
a decent little statsheet. I just noticed that my ss ability
rating is a "70" for the first time ever I think. Here are the #'s.

I've been playing alot of $25 husngs the last few days
and my results have been very solid. The games are taking
forever to regenerate in Cake's lobby which sucks, but I'm
still working off a little bit of bonus cash and the $200 or
so I've gotten in rakeback this month definitely doesnt suck!
I've also played a fair number of DONs with really good results.
I finally figured out the proper approach to them and I've
been amazingly disciplined in them which I'm quite proud of.
Also, it occured to me today, that I really just dont tilt
anymore. I adopted a new approach which basically consists
of me laughing my ass off everytime a fish suckouts out on
me or if I get coolered. I basically dont give a fuck if I
get sucked out on. Really...I'm gonna play my 20-30 games...some
are gonna be suckouts...oh well. I'm used to it by now...and
sometimes I suck out. Its not worth worrying about.

Up about $1200 on the month so far...feeling sooo insanely good
and confident.

The plan is to get as much of this last $80 of bonus off of
Cake by the deadline of 2-5-10 and then its fulltime stars...$33's.

I've had really good results overall, and I've qualified some bonus money as well
as made some Rakeback. Shooting for a record month hopefully!

Wrap up for Dec. and for 2009. Got off to a really hot start in December and was shooting for a possible record month, but due to some epic fails in full ring games, ended up only making a total of $801. Not awful, but definitely donked pretty heavily in my ring experiences. As for HUSNG's, my numbers for the month were probably the best I've ever had.

I also made at least $100 from bonuses and RB, so you can see that I must have lost like $400 from Ring games. Silly me. I'm going to try to stay away from Ring games on Cake...they are full of set-mining rake nits just living off the 33%. Stars is different imo, but I'm gonna try to stick with what I do best which is owning fools in HUSNG's.

Thought about calculating how much I made in 2009, but I'm not gonna bother right now. Will worry about that come tax time.

I need to think about goals for 2010, and reflect on 2009, and I will do that soon.

Obv 99 is a strong hand, but it becomes a diffcult hand to play post flop if
over cards hit the board which is a likely scenario. Since he was 4xing pre, I
was getting 80 free chips if he folded, so I snap decided to ship it. I was happy
as hell for a second when i saw the 77 hand, but alas....I was pwn'd.

Grinded a buttload of $11's today to work on 2 tabling. I'm still not real
comfortable with it....I can do it, but it makes playing more like work, and I
definitely make a few more small mistakes which I hate. Just need to keep working on it I suppose.

Been playing very well...almost exclusively $22 HU on stars. Gonna keep it up till I just feel like I OWN this level. My ROI is running really hi and I do feel like I own the level now, but I'm just gonna try to focus on getting in as many games as I can at this level in December and try to have a big month. Over $1000 obv is the min goal, but I think $1500 or even $2000 might be possible. We'll see...

Real quick...wanted to run down a few other ways
that a new poker player can make money besides
just playing your game of choice. For old hands,
this will not be helpful, but for newer players it might.

-All sites have retention programs. For Stars its mostly about FPP. When you are just starting out, the best way to utilize these is to play Satellites. If you win, you can "unreg" and then use the T$ for more SNG's. One I played alot back in the day was the 70 FPP sat to the Sunday Quarter million. There is also a 210 FPP one, as well as others.

-The freeroll tourneys. On stars they have tons of them. If you get to Silver status there are even more. They are a good experience to play, and you can build

Quick wrap up on last month. Bought some coaching and reupped my sharkscope
sub, and as always I deduct those expenditures from my profits when I incur them. So, after those expenses, I netted $238. Really didnt grind very hard, and obviously
generated over twice that amount in actual poker profit before expenses, so not terribly dissapointed, but want to be in the $1000+ range every month, so I guess
I need to put in more games.

Recently, I hired a guy to help me improve my
game...MrDream on Cake. Obviously, I have a good
grasp on the basics and on what it takes to
consistently beat the low stakes HU games like < $30
buy in. But, I've also known for awhile that in order
to move up the ranks, I probably needed to refine my
approach...ie plug some leaks, and learn some of the
sublteties of the game. Watching a player that is better
than you on Teamviewer is an excellent learning tool.
Some of what I have learned thus far:

I was playing too much from OOP
My endgame (50/100) is actually TOO aggro and I still play too much "poker"
More structure for the 25/50 level
When to cbet and when not to
How to see more Showdowns with marginal hands
Better understanding of Pot control (I had almost none...sad I know)
Several other "tricks of the trade"

I'm really tired right now, but I will talk some more about
this next time.

Just a quick note on my results for November, 2 days in. Been pretty uneventful, but it has occurred to me over the past few days and weeks just how hard this husng game is mentally. The bad beats come so fast and furious....the lost flips, the coolers, the suckouts, the setups, the runner runners, the aggro donks, the idiots, the fuckheads, the...well you get the idea. It can be extremely frustrating at times. I've gotten progressively better about dealing with it, but I still go on mini-tilt sometimes....did it tonight. Played a guy named "Gaygymnast" (nice huh) on Cake. He was good...and he was 3betting the fuck out of me and firing OOP and pot sized cbets and playing really fast. Obv I've seen this before, but this dude was better than most guys you see at $10/$25 with a $100+ average buy in and up like $7k in profit in only 1000 games or so. Anyway, I ended up 4bet shoving him with A7 and he had JJ...so std, and so shitty. Oh well....it happens. Then I ended up playing him again and lost again.

Played alot today, and tired....gonna crash.

October is done...had a week off for vacation, got screwed by total scammer 1M A SHARK for $100, and had several god awful losing streaks, and still squeaked out a tiny profit of $318.66. I went ahead and deducted the $100 that total scammer 1M A SHARK fucked me out of from my profits, so if he pays me back in the future it will look like profit then.

Went out and got wasted last nite for Halloween....it was fun to hang out with friends, but I'm hurting today...I just dont drink much anymore and when I do I always pay the price. Need to drink some water I guess.

Next post I'm going to try to remember to spend some time going over the various ways a player can make money besides playing his/her regular games.

Beware of "1M A SHARK"

Quick story about this dude. We used to play 4 mans together some months ago. We got along well, and made some money. I even staked him I think 3 different times.
Anyway, he kinda disappeared of of AIM for about 4 months until a few days ago. He told me that he had quit his job selling cars, and was trying for another job. Meanwhile he was gonna try to make a few bucks playing poker, but he barely had enough for a roll. He was grinding $1 45 mans....lol. Well...I suggested that he could borrow $100 no strings attached under the condition that he promise to pay me back in 24 hours. Basically, an interest free loan for a full day to try to make a few bucks. I told him twice "You promise to give me back this cash tomorrow?". He said yes and I shipped.

Well....that was on Tuesday. Now hes avoiding me on AIM, and is playing games with his ID hidden from the search feature which it has never been before. So...obviously, hes fucking me which is really weird. Now, tonight, I see where hes been losing, and just lost a $220 HU, which is definitely the highest hes ever played. WTF!!! You just never know.

So....please..if you bump into this douchebag, tell him to give Wing his cash ASAP. And, pwn his ass while you're at it.

Cake has kind of gotten me hooked with the Rakeback which is 33% paid weekly by the way. I get about $30 every week, which really adds up.

I wanted to talk about the level that I'm playing right now. As you can see from the stats above, my avg buyin for October is $15 for Stars and $12 for Cake. This is consistent with what I said in my last post that I'm basically playing mostly $10/$25 on Cake and $11/$22 on Stars. I want to advance my poker career more than anyone can imagine, but right now, I'm in a financial situation where I need to grind out sure profits. I know for a fact that if I grind these low stakes hu games I can churn out a minimum of $500 and often times $1000 or a little more. Even with a full week off this month, I'm right on track with a MTD profit of $483 as of this moment. If you are wondering why the profit figure is higher than the sum of the two SNG figures from Scope above, its because of the following:

- I have Rakeback from Cake which is not reflected in scope stats
- I got a $300 reload bonus from Cake that they credit to me in $10 increments
- I've played some Full Ring and made a few bucks
- I've played a few MTT's and actually got small cashes in all of them
- I've partnered 4 mans, and I guess I've lost more flip finals than I've won

Hopefully, soon the financial pressure will subside, and I will be able to push the envelope again. What I mean is, start playing $25/$50 on Cake and $33/$55 on Stars.

This post has gotten me thinking about all the ways that a poker player can make money, and there are many. I think I will delve into that further in my next post
for the benefit of any newer players that might stumble onto this blog.

Went to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for about 5 days with an old friend, and we had a great time. Actually played a few $10 games in the airport in Charlotte, and a few more laying on the beach in front of the condos, but power wasnt available down by the beach, and the wi-fi in the room was too spotty to play, so basically had about a full week where I played almost none. Despite that, and despite the fact that I've had like 3 separate spells where I lost like 8-12 in a row and couldnt catch a break to save my soul, the month has gone pretty well.

I'm playing all $10/$25 (Cake) and $11/$22 (Stars) because its low stress, and I know I can churn out $150-$250 a week like clockwork. So, for the month, I'm up $382.48...obv not alot, but like I said, there is something to be said for low stress and steady money coming in.

I've made withdrawals for 3 months straight now after not withdrawing all year prior to that. I took out $2k a few months ago, $1600 last month, and just submitted a request for $1000 from Cake yesterday. My roll is still sitting at a healthy $7140, so no issue with being able to play anything I want up to about $55 HU. Its really cool to know that every dime in my roll is money that I earned, and all the withdrawals too. I may just start taking out cash every month even if I dont really need it...just seeing the fruits of the labor is motivating for me. Cake sends checks out (which takes too long and is kinda prehistoric, but I digress), and there is a motivational spark that goes off in me when I receive the check and take it to the bank...it kind of puts a lil pep in my step. Since poker is not my full time job, and since I almost always make at least $500 each month, I think I'm going to start withdrawing a minimum of $500 just for the "feel good" factor.

I had written earlier about moving up in stakes which obviously hasnt happened yet. It just seems like every time I try, if I go on a losing streak, I feel the urge to reign things in and just revert back to the comfy confines of the $22's or $25's where I know for a fact I can make steady cash. Its def a mental block that I'm still working on. More about that next time.

Always like new months...like a fresh start. Off to a decent start...up a little over $100 after 3 days. Played the Stars 30K Silverstar VIP today and had a small cash, and played the daily goldcard donkfest on Cake and got 31st out of 1475 in that for another small cash. Busted out of both with the best hand, so cannot feel too bad. Actually feel like I played really well despite the fact that I dont think I'm a real good MTT'er.

Anyway..weather's been too good to grind very hard the past few days....off to go drink with my buddies.

Been a tuff month...had my Stars acct frozen for about 5 days because
a friend of mine shipped me $40 on the transfer function and he now owes Stars money, so they froze me as a precaution I guess. All is fine now, but it was stressful for a few days. Havn't really made any money in HUSNG's the entire month.
All told, I'm up a small amount but only because of bonuses, rakeback, a few small sports bets and a little bit of ring. Actually started 4 tabling DON's the last 2 days just to retire FPP's and earn RB. They are hella boring, but I know ICM
well enough to play the $10 or $25's on Cake at a positive ROI and get the last $40 of my signup and obv the Rakeback. Man....I feel like such a scrounger!

My results in the $22/$33 have been below average and frankly very dissapointing. Perhaps I need to look at some individual coaching again...Idk what it is. HU is very hard emotionally.

Grinding away every day. The only reason I'm up a little bit is because I've
qualified a couple bonuses on Stars....one from all the way back in April for $120, and another one for $100 from WCOOP, and of course Rakeback on Cake, and the $10 freebies I get every few days on Cake from the initial deposit. I STILL have $70 left on that original $600. Have made some $$ grinding ring on Cake, but I can only do it for like 30 mins at a time, because I really kinda dislike it. Not even really sure why...meh. My stars scope shows more losses than I really have due to 4 mans, but still am down on Stars for the month. Gonna try to get the rest of the $70from Cake before I go full time on stars.

Not sure if I even want to keep playing this game. Had an awful nite...dont feel like adding up how much I lost.

Sat first in $55's tonight for a couple of hours. Went 5-5 single tabling. Didnt run particularly well or poorly. Wasn't overly impressed with anyone I played, and felt very comfortable the entire time.

This may well be premature...but I feel today may have been a turning point. So far this month I've played 39 games, with 37 of them at $33 or above. Sitting first in $55's isn't something that I've ever felt like I could handle until now. The level of play hasnt been the problem for a while, but rather the money swings would have gotten to me in the past. Tonight, I lost my first 3 in a row (all to std plays/lost flips, etc), and it didnt get to me one bit. I just kept my head down, kept focusing, and went 5-2 from that point on to end at 5-5.

We shall see, but I feel like I'm about to bust out!!!

Ended up basically even for the last 2 weeks which was very disappointing, and did not hit my minimum monthly goal either. But....there were a couple of positive developments.

I'm officially now a $25 regular on Cake. I'm sitting first in Cake $25, and I will play all comers. I've also carved out a relationshiip with the guy who is probably the best $25 reg on Cake "MrBustAlotz" whereby, he wont sit me, and we even take turns taking lobbies if were both playing at a given time. He's a volume hound and likes to 4-tbl $25's so dodging him can be a bit of a chore, but he seems to be a nice fella and when I Aim him that I'm gonna sit, hes cool about not sitting me.

Also, on stars...the last few days, I'm sitting first in $33's and I'm not too impressed with the villains so far. Honestly, more fish in the $33 than the $25 on Cake IMO.

I had a strong month in terms of volume though.

So almost 600 games is excellent. I'd be happy with 500 for sure, and even a little less would be ok. I just want to make sure that I'm playing as well as possible as often as possible rather than just push the volume issue. Playing an ass of games at A-/B/ or C level is no good...Id rather play less total, but all at an A level. I'm impressed by my own ability to manage the emotional swings. Pretty darn solid there. Laughing about sick beats/sick suckouts seems to help me.

Excited about the US Open which began today. I always place some degen bets on tennis. Pretty much the only sporting thing I like to bet on....and my track record is strong, so if it aint broke I'm not gonna fix it ;-)

Had a good day today. Not sure exactly how much I've made, but its probably close to $100 all in. Played a bunch of $22 4-mans last nite with Sickomcnasty and I was playing really well. We went like 8-4, so it was a good session. Strong month so far with both of my accounts sitting on all time record highs as we speak. It's an awesome feeling but strangely, a little bit paralyzing too. I'll get over it and start grinding hard again soon.

Well...I'm not interested in playing these fuckers, so I end up sitting first in $10's. So, why do I keep playing on Cake???....well I was finishing up the bonus whoring process, which is done after this weekend. So....my plan is to play exclusively on Stars starting Monday Aug 3rd.

Final profit $1458...very happy with that. Not going to write alot other than to say that I'm feeling very confident in my HU game. I made a rather large withdrawal recently and getting that money in my account sure feels good....just being able to see the actual digits in my bank account really makes me proud. Enjoying poker for the most part. Had one of the worst days of my poker life a couple of days ago, and it was hard mentally, but I let it go before I went to bed, and I'm proud of myself for that. I made the mistake of playing a bunch of DON's which I know how to play, but since it had been a while since I played any, I didnt play them optimally. To make matters worse, I ran awful, so the net was a big down day. On a brighter note, I had a very good day today...havent lost an SNG yet, and had a solid cash session too. I have learned to be very philosophical about bad beats and coolers...my thought process goes something like this:

-I'm playing a buy in level that I know I have consistently beaten in the past
-So, the fact that I'm having a bad day is the exception, not the rule..
-So, once this patch of non-std variance is over I will be back to my winning ways
-So, I'm not gonna freak out, rather just keep grinding and everything will be fine.

This framework of thoughts has helped me immensely. I never play over my bankroll, so I never have to worry about a streak of bad variance busting me. Getting all worked up and emotional about a bad session, or day, is really just a waste of energy, so I try like hell to avoid it....plus if you let yourself get tilted, it can do major damage to your roll. No bueno! I'm feeling really good about my ability to mange the emotional swings. The main thing is just playing as well as possible at all times...being honest with yourself if your not, and avoid playing when you're tired, intoxicated, or in any kind of bad mood.

Not putting in as much volume as I would like, but having pretty decent results when
I do, so I'm not gonna complain. Still playing mostly on Cake til 7-2 when my bonus qual period ends. Still have $320 available to take down, and no way I'll get anywhere close to all of it, but I'll just be happy with whatever I can get. Just really been grinding the $10 HU with the occasional $25. I crunched some numbers, and my lifetime win/loss at $10 (on WingmanMtP username) on Cake is 178-158...really not very good. After 7-2, Cake will just be a backup for when Stars does server restarts, which was actually the original reason why I established it.

Gonna go to Denver for a whole week on 6-23, so going to modify the June goal down to $1400, because I know I will not be playing much if any while I'm out there.

June is off to a decent start...got $130 in Rakeback from Cake, and been playing some solid HU. Mostly just playing $10's on Cake trying to find my rhythm. Once I feel that I'm destroying the $10's, I will go back to the $25's. I've played a couple hundred $25's on cake, and I have a positive ROI, but only about 1%. Obtaining FPP's is slow at the $10 level, so still have $340 left on the signup bonus. I've accepted the fact that I wont retire it all by July 2nd (the deadline), but I will work off as much as I can in June and just be happy with it.

Gonna work really hard this month to try to make $2000 in profit.

In tennis, Roger made the final of the French. He will play Robin Soderling for the title this weekend. Wow...if he can win that match, I cant see how hes not the best ever.

Ok...So, I updated a few hours ago, but I just played some more and I wanted to update again. Just played a $100 HU Sng on Cake and won it, then I saw a donk that I've pwned a few times sitting in the $50 lobby and I sat him and got 99 in vs AK for stacks and got pwn'd. Oh well...thats the breaks. I also just played a little on Stars, and the software is so much better its unreal. Cake is listed as the 10th largest poker site worldwide in terms of traffic....they really need to upgrade the client. I'll be back on Stars soon...Enough about that.

Couple other cool things...I sold 100 call contracts naked on GM on Thursday. The June $1's (GMFV)...Got .28 for them. With the official Ch. 11 bankruptcy filing this AM, it looks like I made $2700+ in a jif. Love that! Won't be 100% official until June 19th, but I cannot fathom a scenario whereby those contracts wont go off the cliff worthless.

Also, Rafael Nadal was thrashed in 4 sets by Robin Soderling in the French...wow! A shocker is an understatement. I guess Roger will now have the best chance of his life to win the French and bolster his case as the best player who ever lived. May is Done...kinda glad

May has been a little bit frustrating. Up and down and all around. Getting a little bit tired of Cake...the software is clunky as hell. As for games filling at stakes like $10-$50, it's ok for HU...would never play it regularly for anything else. Games dont fill quick, its hard to multitable, and the rake is really hi for some formats (Double the rake that stars gets for DON's as an example). But I'm still marching forward with the bonus whoring process, and the rakeback is cool...made $130 in May which isn't credited to my account as of this second, so I'm not going to include it in my final May stats. The sign up bonus still has $350 to go...don't think I will retire it all by the deadline of July 2nd. Dont care that much though...they changed the rules May 1st and made Fpp's harder to get, but the rakeback is better than it was, so it is what it is...bottom line...the new program is better.

Made a few sportsbets on Mysportsbook.com, and did well with that, and also made a little on Blackjack (I know degen!)

I did not make my minimum goal of $1000 for the month which is very dissapointing, but it just makes me more motivated for June. I want to make at least $2,000 in June to offset the shortfall and then some.

Its been a weird month.....Up and down and now back up a little bit. I had gotten into some bad habits in HU...very donkish habits. Bad habits kinda creep into your game slowly...little by little, and before you know it...blam...your playing like a fucking donk. The thing that I realized is that I never set any traps for my opponents...I always bet out my good hands, and never slowplay. Now, I'm not a huge fan of slowplaying, and alot of fish do it way too much, but against some opponents, it works really well. It kinda dawned on me when I was playing this one dude who would float my cbets on the flop every time. Then, if I checked the turn, he would fire a pot sized bet on the river and take it down. I finally just literally said to myself outloud..."just make a hand and check the turn". Well...I did and it worked like a charm. When he fired out, I repopped him...He instafolded leaving himself shortstacked. Ding...ligthbulb. Now, this isnt something that I didnt already know...I've done it a million times in the past...its just that I had gotten away from it...I was just in the habit of cbetting and if I had a made hand on the flop, betting out even bigger on the turn. This is the right play against some fish...particulary stations that arent gonna fold anything no matter what. But, the slightly more sophisticated donks require a little bit of deception to pwn.

I was also stabbing at too many pots OOP, getting hard headed at times, and also not letting hands develop...not allowing the villain to make dumb mistakes...I was forcing the action too much, and getting my self into dead end type positions too often. I feel like today I corrected alot of it...my results today have been much better, so keeping my fingers crossed that I am truly onto something, and that I have made some tweaks for the better.

I staked my friend Rob again, and this time we both made some money. I ended up making $129, and he ended up with a bankroll where he previously had none. Rob's a cool dude and a good poker player, but he really need to build up a roll if he wants to make a living playing cards. He knows this, but its easier said than done when you starting from ground zero. Also met another guy, Mike Csikasz (Csikasz on stars)...and we've partnered on some 4 mans too. Played a couple of brief sessions...his specialty appears to be HU, and his graph is sick, so looking forward to seeing what develops.

Still playing mostly on Cake...trying to work off this sign up bonus. They changed the rules for FPP's, so they accrue slower, but they dont back the bonus $$ out of the Rakeback anymore, so I think its a posiitve, but its a little convoluted. Still have $360 to go on that.

Anyway...every month has to be $1000+ going forward...minimum. Thats the goal, so I have a little work to do yet!!

May has been a little bit of a slog so far...not bad, not good. Need to have another $1000+ month, and close to being on track for that. My friend Rob (1M A SHARK) and I partnered a 3375 FPP 4 Man HU the other day, and won it. My first time playng one of those. We were both pitted against guys that were up huge on scope, so it was exciting and gratifying. My boy Rob played a dude named Youngluck who is up like 90K on scope, and Rob made an unbelievable A hi hero call for the match. He was IM'ing me right before he called saying he was thinking of calling. I was watching his match, and I was skeptical, but I never make advice during matches unless asked, and he didn't ask, so I just watched as his timer ticked and he thought. Then he called, and Youngluck had shoved a busted str8 draw...bam! My heart was pounding. Then, the reality set in that I needed to win to ensure that we pwn'd the $215 bucks. Well...my guy was good too...up like $15K on scope. Like 2 hands later, he shoved a str8 draw into my set, and I called, and he whiffed.

BLAM!!!!

Also staked Rob on some $25 HU's on Cake. He ended up playing 39 of them and went 17-22. I think he got a bit tilted towards the end, and started to force a little bit. Well...our deal was to split profit and loss, so we split the $174 loss, so I lost $87. So, we've done 2 stake deals, and I'm down exactly $200. We'll probably try something else soon....I know he's a good player.

Well...a new month. Hopefully, it will be comparable to April. Thus far, it has been kinda up and down.

A few things of note....I qualified a $250 reload bonus on Stars a few days ago. Those are always nice. There is another one pending for $120, but it will probably be a June thing at the earliest since I'm playing full time on Cake now. I staked my buddy Rob $325 for some $6 SNG's, and we finished that up. I ended up losing $112 on that, so it def didn't turn out the way either of us had hoped. I received a rakeback credit from Cake on May 1st....rakeback is cool!

Hanging in there strong for the month. Still on track to be the best month ever.
Playing exclusively on Cake....$10 and $25 HUSNG's and full ring. Been very pleased with the way my monthly profit has just steadily climbed the entire month. No downswings of any significance. I think playing 6 tables of cash all the time really smooths things out. I have always hated FR, but I'm kinda getting the hang of it now, at least at the .25/.50 level anyway. As I mentioned, the only reason I'm playing it is to qualify the $600 sign up bonus on Cake. Thus far, I've retired $130 of it in 3 1/2 weeks, so right on track there.

This month is on its way to being the best I've ever had. I've been playing well, running good, and I discovered Cake. Holy crap!!! So, I signed up for Cake and got a $600 bonus which of course has to be qualified thru earning FPP's. I had been playing on the Cake network already using the Mysportsbook.com poker skin, and I noticed the games were really soft, so I figured I might as well sign up a new account thru Cake directly and bonus whore the $600. So, I started off playing $25 HU SNG's. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I got off to a rough start with those, but it wasn't due to poor play, just variance. Well, I'm still playing the $25 HU's, and in fact have won 9 out of the last 10, but more interestingly, I have discovered the Cake full ring game. Unlike Stars, with Cake any raked hand counts towards FPP's...$1 = 1FPP, unlike Stars .40 = 1FPP, but even a .05 cent rake gives you .05 FPP. On stars you only get FPP credit if the hand rakes at least .40 cents. So, any rake below that is lost and does not accrue or accumulate. This matters alot at low stakes like 50NL, since most hands dont generate .40 cent rake. I've been 6 tabling the .25/.50 Full ring. Its a little fast and hectic, but the FPP's are piling up pretty quick. Over the weekend, I received $40 in bonus credit. (They credit you $10 the minute you get 167 FPP), so it would take 10,000 to retire the entire $600. This should be "Cake"!! The only bad thing is, they only give you 90 days to retire the FPP requirement, so I'm gonna really need to play almost exclusively on Cake to get this done.

Only need about 400 more FPP on Stars to get $250 free, but have til August to get that done, so back burner it goes.

Since I'm a big time Gold Star this month, I figured I might as well play some of the VIP tourneys. So, I played the weekly $75K donkament yesterday. Top 270 cashed, with 270 getting $75. We were down to 271 players left. Blinds were 300/600 and ante 25. I had just folded the BB, and was left with 611 and a small blind of 300 and ante of 50 coming up. Still having good results....not tilting, and playing solid. I feel that I'm becoming more and more comfortable just evaluating my play honestly, and not worrying so much about the results when I'm playing at a level that I have consistently beaten over a good sample size of games. Things are a little different when playing at a level that has kicked my butt in the past....then I have to think a little bit deeper about it, and make sure there isnt some subtlety that I'm being pwned on and not even realizing it.

Played a little bit today, and mostly won. So far in the new Cake account which I opened just to bonus whore ($600), I am 4-0 in $10's, 11-13 in $25's, 0-2 in $50's, and 1-0 in $100's (all HU). In the $25's I got off to a terrible start going 3-10, but obv 8-3 since and won my last 5. The quality of the opponents is noticeably weaker than the $22's on Stars from what I can discern thus far, but we will need to
play a much larger sample to be 100% convinced of that. I'm 80-90% convinced now though frankly. Anyway...still gunning for the $1000 month, minimum. I will be very dissapointed with one dime less than $1000. In fact, I expect to exceed that significantly.

In hind sight, I think it was a bad play....I was playing very well, and stacks were deep, so no need to go crazy and shove it all in there. But...I was gettting tired, and this guy was 3 betting me quite a bit, so maybe I got a little impatient....and obv if any diamond hits (other than the K) and I look like a genius.

SO...bottom line, made about 8 buy ins without taking much risk or ever getting the least bit stressed. (Except maybe for the runner runner 4's that cracked my QQ!)

Running pretty good so far in April. Played 15 4 mans with 1M A Shark yesterday, and we went 9-6. He got really unlucky in one tournament that I watched, getting
it in 3 or 4 times with the chip lead and the best hand, only to see this fish suckout every time....he eventually lost the match. We played some $6 4 mans only because his roll is depleted big time due to withdrawals...once we won a few, we played some $11's and we made some more money. Hopefully, if he can build his roll a little, we can start to pwn the $22's 4 mans....I'm ready now. My ROI in my last 50 HU matches with buy-in between $20-$55 is 20%, so if there is anyone with a strong track record wants to partner up on some $20-$33's, I'd be open to discussing.

I created another new account on Cake poker to get a $600 bonus. I've mentioned this a few times before, but I'll say it again....the quality of the players on Cake is dismal. Now I have my stars account, my Cake/sportsbook account (which uses the Cake software skin, but is a separate poker site from Cake), and my Cake account. My username on Cake/Sportsbook is Wingpin just like Stars, and on Cake it's WingmanMtp. One other cool thing. The way Cake qualifies the bonus is in $10 increments that they automatically credit to your account as you qualify. This way, you dont have to wait until the entire thing is earned to see/withdraw any of it.
I do kinda hate the software, but I'll probably get used to it.

Off to an awesome start in April...Hopefully can make it at least a $1K month. I'm feeling really good about it right now.

Ok...this was funny. So, I'm playing this fish in an $11 HU. Early in the match he bluffs me off of top pair. The funny thing about it was, I asked him if he had a King, and he replied "blöff". Played a ton the last couple days and made Gold star status. No biggie...I dont even really care, but its free FPP's if nothing else. Ended the month +/- $20 from breakeven. It's a little confusing because I played a bunch of 4 mans with 1M A SHARK, and I played quite a bit on Cake poker. BTW...the players on Cake are downright awful. Check my Sharkscope on there for further evidence! I'm not discouraged at all though. In fact I have some really cool news to report from today April 1. Stars is currently in a server restart, so I went to Cake (same username Wingpin) and game selected and have made $222 so far. Took some dude twice at the $100 turbo.

As for the end of March, played a ton of $15 9 mans and had a slightly negative roi which was surprising, but I started feeling better the last 10 or so. Just some subtle things that have to be relearned when you have been playing so many hu matches. Namely, position, blind stealing and starting hands vs blind levels/effective stacks.

I'm running a little better the last couple days. Not brave enough to play anything above $11 though...not sure why. Still down about $100 for March...determined to finish in the black. Have not had a losing month since Sep. 08. Also, closing in on Gold Status...strange because I have played more games in March than any other month ever, but it doesnt really seem like it. I need to evaluate what I'm doing here. I'm thinking seriously about abandoning HU for a while at least. Will think about this for a few days. Gonna play an ass of 9 mans in the next few days to try to put March in the + column.

Feeling very down on poker

Not because I've lost a bunch...I haven't. But thats only because its pretty hard to lose a bunch on $11 hu matches which is mostly what I've been playing lately.

It's because of how bad I'm running lately. I know I'm not playing perfect...I know that there are plenty of aspects to my game that need to be improved....I also know that variance is part of the game and without it the bad players wouldnt be here... But nonetheless, It's depressing. Just to make myself feel better, I'm gonna post a few ridiculous hands from tonight...mainly because I know if I play another match, it'll just happen again. My opponents tonight have been extraordinarily poor players...many with fishbowls on sharkscope...and I've been pwned anyway.

Maybe I played this wrong. I can see how you might say that calling the turn bet was bad because of the straight, and the river bet was bad because of the 3rd heart. Believe me...I see that, but the reality is, he had neither. I mean...I flopped top pair and I 3bet him. Then I turn aces up, and he check raises me with bottom pair...My read was spot on. Then he hits the miracle 2 outer on the river...wtf???!!!???

Ok...this next one was another donk chasing and hitting gin on the river which incidentally gave me a set of Kings.

Met a guy to play 4 mans with...we played 14 on Saturday and went 9-5. We lost the last 2 or it would've been even better. This month has sucked! But, only $41 away from even. Grinding big time, so there is not many interesting things to talk about.

Been playing very well the last few days. I've won 17 of my last 19 games, just grinding low to low-mid games. Won 10 HU games in a row at one point. Played a bunch of $20 Double-or-Nothing (DON) tournaments since last
post. Fist 40 or 50 games were rough as I had to throttle the motor waaaaay
down and it took awhile for it to sink in that hands like JJ and QQ can
be folded preflop....and often need to be. Have had AA cracked by KK with all the money in pre, 3 separate times too. Many, many bad beats and too much aggression, and your down about $200. Today, played 33 more and went 18-15. Getting the hang of it. It's so different....You must play super tight, and use position late to steal chips if necessary.

Played a grip of $55's the other day. Played like a donk, ran bad, and got tilted. No bueno! Lost like $400 or so. Have recouped a little since then, but frankly been a little shell shocked. I guess there is a significant jump in the quality of the opponents at this level. I'm gonna go back to game selecting $20-$55 and grinding $20/$22's by sitting first, and rebuild a little bit before I'm gonna try the $55 again.

Just finished a session. Did well....made $56. Played some 9 mans for a little variety, but not planning on doing it full time. I know that if I wanted to maximize my profit right now, I would 4 table $15/$25 9 mans. But, I want to keep on with the HU, because I had a solid Feb playing almost exclusively HU, and I'm feeling so comfortable playing the $22-$50 range.

Closed the month out with a whimper. Didnt play much the last few days. When
I did play, I won a little bit every time. Just noticed that the thresholds for Silver, Gold, and Platinum all look to be lower now. Gold is only 3000 and Platinum 7500. I've been coming in between the Silver and Gold most months, (did make Gold once) and not caring much about it....but at 3000 Gold should be very attainable.

Played 6 games. 3-2 in $22's and 1-0 in a $55. Made $70. I'm feeling so relaxed and confident. The best I've ever felt. It's nice. Even the 2 games I lost, I feel I played well. In the first one, stacks were short and I got 88 in vs AK. No biggie there. In the other one, I had the dude down below $600. My 77 got beat by 94 off when he made a set of 4's. Very next hand, my A9 loses to QJ and I was crippled. Secured Silver Star today, and still need 4100 FPP to release a $250 bonus.

Played about 25 games or so. Made about $60. Again...feeling confident and very solid emotionally. This is the most important thing of all I believe. I have not had any inclination to tilt even when I get a bad beat river to lose the game. I just laugh because I know I played it well, and thats all I can do. Bad beats are part of the game. I'm pretty confident that I can continue to scratch out 5-10% ROI on the $20-$55 games. Mid-Stakes HU on Stars...This is where I am camping out lately...here is one bad beat that I took. I had this guy down to his last card, and he spikety spiked the Kang. It didnt phase me though....

Just played 6 games right quick. Went 4-2...played well, and no tilt. Both losses were rivers. Feeling really good about my reads, and decisions. Played a little bit of cash and stacked some donk at a micro table...thats always fun!

Gonna keep doing exactly what I'm doing now. Playing a mix of $20-$33 with the occasional $50/$55.

Just played a 20 game session. Went 11-9. 18 of the games were $20-$50 buy in. Played 4 4-mans as well. Lost the first 3 games I played, and still managed to make $39 when it was all said and done. More importantly, I never tilted once. Got a tiny bit steamed at one point, but it lasted about 10 seconds. I felt very focused the whole time. Played 10 $20-$22's, 5 $30-$33's, 3 $50's, and 2 under $20, so a good variety of buy-ins. Felt very good and I'm encouraged. A 55% win percentage overall, and 2-2 in 4 mans is pretty solid. If not for the 1-2 record in the $50's, it would have been a much more profitable night, but I'm still not focusing much on that....just trying to keep playing solid poker, not tilting, and I think the rest will take care of itself.

I do feel that I made a few mistakes in the session. This is a hand I may have overplayed. It was a $50 buy-in. I was handling the guy really well, and had nearly a 3-1 chip edge.

I went all in, but if I flat him here pre, he will either c-bet the flop and I fold...or he will check it down, leaving me the option of stabbing by representing a straight, or checking it down and losing only $150 instead of $800.

On the very next hand I made another dumb play, losing the tournament, and $50.
It kinda speaks for itself...in the last 2 hands, my A-9, and A-2 ran into A-J and A-Q....but if I wouldve played right, I would have still been way ahead, even after this hand. I think I just got caught up in the moment and snap called. Not a good feeling to be praying for that duck!!!

The one thing I can say in my defense is that this guy was bluffing like crazy, and showing me the garbage hands. He did it enough times that I made a note on him and it said "bluffy and showy". Shook me off of 2 or 3 pots where I had him pwned, so the pump was primed for me to fall into the trap.

Been playing the $20 regs pretty much every day since my last post. Getting very comfortable with them. I was beating the $11 turbo consistently, but struggled with the $22. So, I started playing the $20, and it has helped. There are so many lagtard aggro donks at both, but with the $20 reg, you can throttle down a notch and patiently wait for them to screw themselves....and they usually do! My last 21 $20 regs, I'm 13-8. I think I was forcing the action too much, too early on the $22's, and frankly with the turbo format, you are forced to start push/folding around the 50/100 level, and definitely at the 75/150 level. With the regs, this gives you 30-40 minutes to wait for the lagtard to lead himself right off a cliff. I have an account on Cake Poker also...fyi..the players on there are horrible!!! So many lagtards...or just plain old bad players. Lots of "Gamblers" I'll call them. They fire $280 into dry pots, or lead out with huge opening bets...just weird stuff.

Played a bunch of $22's since my last post. It didnt go real well. I have since started playing $20 regs and thats going much better. Also, playing $10's and $11 turbos. I reflected on the reason why, and I have figured one thing out. When playing the hyper agg donks at $22, I need to throttle back my initial raising range and perhaps even the raise size. Also, I had stretches of horrific bad beats, which led to some minor tilting on my part as. I definitely made some spite calls and adrenaline shoves....overall not horrible but an area to continue to improve in. One really bright spot...I played a fair number of $33's mixed in there, and I have a + ROI in those. I sat first for most of them...played 25 total in 2009 and have 14-11 record in them. 32-25 in them lifetime....hmmm. Dont really want to jump to $33 til I figure out $22...I'm kinda hard headed like that. Gonna play the $10/$20 regs and more $11 turbos and then take another shot at the $22. (Tail between legs!)

Played 10 HU games tonight and won 8. 9 (8-1) were for $11 and one (1-0) $22. Made a little over $70. Very pleased with how I'm playing. I think its about time to move to $22. Very soon, I will attempt the jump. I've actually already played 56 $22's YTD and I'm 28-28, so I'm down the $56 in rake. Not good, but not awful. I did have one horrific streak of bad luck I recall, where I got it in 3-4 times with a set vs a large pair on turn or riv and watched the bigger set 2 outer hit. Its twice the BI, so its twice the $$ swings....but I'm bout ready. Any day now....

Played 7 $11 Hu games tonight. Went 5-2. Played well, and had some hands hold up and
some positive variance. I feel comfortable with these, but I'm gonna keep playing them a little bit longer. I still fell like I'm learning some new things, and wanna keep fine tuning before I try to jump to $22 for good.

Gonna lose Gold Star status this month, but thats ok. 1 tabling HU games generates far less
FPP than 3 or 4 tabling $15 9 mans. Trying to see where this HU can take me....wasnt the
original plan for January, but I like to go with the flow, and I'm pleased so far.

Played nothing but $11 HU's. Did pretty well. Went 10-7. I'll take it. Once I feel totally
comfortable, I'm gonna try to move to $22 for good. I dont think it will be that much tougher.
Today, for the first time ever I actually played a bunch of games while watching TV, and I played well enough to have a 13% roi for the day. Whatta breakthrough....really just never tried it before.

Today I played 9 $11 games, 2 $22 games, and 5 $33's. Went 5-4, 2-1, and 3-2 respectively for a $74 day. I'll take it! I'm feeling very comfortable at $11. Unless I'm hammered or something, no reason to ever play a $6 HU again. $22 doesnt scare me at all anymore, but not quite ready to move up there 100%....but soon I think. Will keep game selecting some $33's and even sitting first if I'm feeling good. Got a $150 reload bonus credited the other day....love that free money!

Well...I had a goal of $1000 Sharkscope for January. But then I had to take a full week off, so I am going to revise it to $500. Right now I'm up $243, so still have work to do. Wasn't planning on playing HU this moth at all and have ended up playing 98% HU. I gonna blame it on HokieGreg. He sent me a vid in late Dec of him playing $220 turbos. I learned alot from it, and it whetted my appetite to get back on the HU bus. I had pretty much decided that I wasn't going to play hu anymore....primarily because I am pwning the $15 - 9 man to the tune of a lifetime ROI of approx 24%, and I tend to tilt playing hu much more often. Well, like I said, Hokie's vid helped ( and sucked me in), and I went ahead and decided to buy another one from him. For the last few days, I'm just playing $11 HU...and doing well. So, gonna keep it up for now.

Trying to post the sharkscope graph was harder than I thought!! Well...I played a ton of $22's and $55's yesterday, and I played very well. I ended up losing a fair amount of money, but the majority was awful suckouts. At least 3 different times I had the superior pocket pair...got it in good, only to see the villain spike the set. I'm proud of myself though, because I really didnt tilt, and I made some of it up towards the end. Played the 3rd $110 turbo of my life which I game selected and won. (2-1 lifetime on those). And, today I've been playing well again, and my results have been really good. I've won like 7 out of my last 8 or something.

Anyway...now I'm up $202 on SS for Jan...haven't played much at all...gonna lose my Goldstar status if I dont start playing.
