Grinding back to even for March

After the debacle I had with the $55's, been working on getting even all month. Slowly but surely getting there. Won my last 8 games straight, so only down $94 on scope for March. Determined not to have a losing month, so going to grind out the $11's to get there.

Back on Track.

Been playing very well the last few days. I've won 17 of my last 19 games, just grinding low to low-mid games. Won 10 HU games in a row at one point. Hopefully will be able to dig out of this hole I dug for myself in March. Havn't had a losing month in a long time, and only one in the past year. Comforting to know I can always go back and pwn the $11 HU...def small potatoes, but a level to build off of.

Going the wrong way...

Played a bunch of $20 Double-or-Nothing (DON) tournaments since last
post. Fist 40 or 50 games were rough as I had to throttle the motor waaaaay
down and it took awhile for it to sink in that hands like JJ and QQ can
be folded preflop....and often need to be. Have had AA cracked by KK with all the money in pre, 3 separate times too. Many, many bad beats and too much aggression, and your down about $200. Today, played 33 more and went 18-15. Getting the hang of it. It's so different....You must play super tight, and use position late to steal chips if necessary.

$55's

Played a grip of $55's the other day. Played like a donk, ran bad, and got tilted. No bueno! Lost like $400 or so. Have recouped a little since then, but frankly been a little shell shocked. I guess there is a significant jump in the quality of the opponents at this level. I'm gonna go back to game selecting $20-$55 and grinding $20/$22's by sitting first, and rebuild a little bit before I'm gonna try the $55 again.

March 1

Just finished a session. Did well....made $56. Played some 9 mans for a little variety, but not planning on doing it full time. I know that if I wanted to maximize my profit right now, I would 4 table $15/$25 9 mans. But, I want to keep on with the HU, because I had a solid Feb playing almost exclusively HU, and I'm feeling so comfortable playing the $22-$50 range.

Closed the month out with a whimper. Didnt play much the last few days. When
I did play, I won a little bit every time. Just noticed that the thresholds for Silver, Gold, and Platinum all look to be lower now. Gold is only 3000 and Platinum 7500. I've been coming in between the Silver and Gold most months, (did make Gold once) and not caring much about it....but at 3000 Gold should be very attainable.

Havn't really played any sessions since the last post, but have played a game here and there. Up another $40 or so since the last post. I've actually won my last 5 games straight. Been playing the $11's only because I like to play for small stakes if I'm not gonna hunker down for a real session.
